                            Feudalism 
           
                Feudalism is a social system in Medieval Europe, it was based on how much land people had and the relationship between the lord and the vassal. The people had to work and fight and in return they would get protection.
     
       Social classes: King/Monarch, Knights/Vassals, Barons/Nobles,  Villeins/Peasants/serfs

                                                                      

                                   Monarchs 

       The King or the Monarch ruled and owned all the land in the country. They also chose how much land to put on lease so that the Barons could buy it. The Barons had to make an oath to the Monarch swearing that they wont go against him. The Monarch could also take away the land and give it to someone else.

                                  Barons/Nobles

      The Barons leased lands from the Monarch. They were the second wealthiest class in the social class. They made their own legal systems. They also made their own tax regulation. In return of the land the Barons had to; serve the royal council, help the Monarch in any war, provide food lodging facilities when the king was in war and pay taxes and rent.

                                   Knights/Vassals

      The Barons provided lease for the Knights and in return they provided military services whenever the king or the baron needed it. The Barons would give them land and the knights would provide some land to the Villeins. In that land they would also put their tax regulation. They had a pretty good salary. Their main job was to protect the Monarch and the Baron.

                              Villeins/Peasants/Serfs

         They were the poorest social class. They had no rights and were not allowed to leave the Manor unless they had permission. They were also not allowed to get married unless the Lord gave them permission.

                                        Paragraph

           The experience I had on Friday with the activity was very fun, scary and hard. It was fun because we got to do something that we don't usually do. Plus it was cool how we got to somewhat experience what the serfs, knights, Barons and Monarchs did. It was scary because we got paper ball thrown at us and it was scary to know that people used to live like that and had no chose but to learn to live with it. It was hard because I was a serf and I had to color and cut out the food tokens with one hand.
